My little, growing family is thankful to God for so many blessings in this season. There has been so much to learn through challenges in 2020. Yet we have bloomed and are transitioning into a new and exciting chapter. I haven’t posted on Bloom Beryl in months for a few reasons. First, for the past few months, I haven’t felt inspired to write much. I’ve felt constant guilt that I wasn’t updating my blog but at the same time, I couldn’t bring myself to put anything together and I didn’t want to force content. Another reason for not writing was because there was so much going on as my family and I prepared for two big transitions – a cross-country move and a baby on the way! Over the past ten years, my husband Prince has been pursuing a career in cardiology. He’s spent countless hours studying, taking exams, seeing patients, doing research, etc to reach this milestone. It has truly been a long and hard road marked with many challenges. Through it all Prince persevered and God has brought him to the end of this journey. He recently graduated from cardiology fellowship and landed a job directing a program for a major health science center in Texas. God is so faithful. God has exceeded all our expectations. What we would have imagined for his first job is nowhere near what we are getting – the position he found is so much better. “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” - Ephesians 3: 20, 21 In the midst of this cross-county move and new job, we’re also expecting a baby boy to join our little family soon. We praise God for the opportunity once again to bring a child into the world.
No matter how common it may seem, pregnancy truly is a miracle. Whenever God allows a baby to form within a mother’s womb, it’s amazing. Every single organ and body part that takes shape correctly and every physiological function that develops is a gift from above. I don’t take this opportunity to become a mom of two for granted, and I’m so excited for my baby boy to arrive and join my family. I look forward to his little smile, his laugh, his personality, his relationship with his older sister, and so much more. All of these amazing things are happening in a short time, and we’re elated to move forward into this new season. Once again God has shown us that He is more than able to exceed all our expectations if we trust in Him. “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 1:6 In the midst of many transitions, there are many unknowns. How will we like our new community? Who will we meet here? What will our day-to-day life look like? What will life be like with two kids? Will I be able to balance it all? My encouragement to everyone reading this is that God is able to do amazing things with our lives if we trust Him to lead us. Even with questions about your future, there’s no need to worry. God’s plans for us are greater than our own plans. Commit your life and plans to Him and know that He will work everything out. Beryl! Thank you for the reminder to trust God to lead and direct us! I’ll be praying for you and your family in this season of new beginnings! I’m going through a job transition and have sooooo many questions! Will I be able to meet/exceed expectations? What will it be like working with and building relationships with a new group of coworkers? Will I know what in the world I’m doing? Etc. I’m choosing to leave all the unknowns in this new chapter into God’s hands:)
